Our Story

Viking Film was founded by Rolf Lindblom, an award-winning filmmaker, lifelong learner, and avid artist. Based out of Southwest Finland, Rolf has always considered himself a filmmaker at heart. For Rolf, nothing is more important than using his expertise in film to provide his clients with unique visual experiences that transform, their dreams into reality.

Today, Rolf remains poised to assist his clients in all of their film production needs. Whether it be for creative or artistic purposes like a short film, or for commercial purposes like an advertisement, Viking Film is here to deliver.

Throughout his career as a filmmaker, Rolf has won various awards for his digital series and for several short films. With a unique stylistic approach to filmmaking and storytelling, Rolf has built his reputation as an innovative film production specialist who knows how to make a compelling story into an immersive visual experience.

Nothing is as it seems. In this sci-fi, thriller tale from Director Rolf Lindblom. Which is set against the backdrop of alternate realities, and stunning landscapes.

END UNSUNG takes the viewer through multiple periods of time and space. Introducing them to various characters with an assortment of motives, conflicts, and interactions. All prompted by an engineered distortion of time and space. Which has wreaked havoc upon, and affected their lives and timelines in profound ways.

The cause of this chronological chaos, are a group of mysterious beings called travelers. Who not only have the ability to manipulate events both past and present, but possess humans as well. But what are their origins? And furthermore, their subsequent plans for all of humanity?

AWAKENING
Award Winning short film

Jake, a real estate agent, works hard to provide for his wife and son, despite a seemingly rather distant relationship to them. Stressed and overwhelmed by the huge stack of work he receives one day, he decides to drive to a cabin in the woods, thus hoping to get out of his office routine for a couple of days, relax his mind and get some work done. He tries some meditation and self- suggestion techniques prescribed by his psychiatrist, but his attempts leads to envisioning a series of disturbing events. This raises questions about the origin of these visions: do they come from his own subconscious, as a result of his doctor advising him to take control, or are they originating from a more sinister, outside force that prays on his strained psyche?

Rolf Lindblom hits a number of highs with ‘Awakening’. The cinematography is fantastic, contrasting beautiful and serene sequences of nature with the dark and disturbing imagery which Jake envisions during his sessions. The music utilized throughout the film is likewise superb, fitting the unfolding events like a glove and combining to create an eerie atmosphere, with tension accumulating all the way through to the very last scenes and the open finale of the film, with a runtime of just under 10 minutes. The soundtrack is expertly dosed, and when it is absent, it is replaced with nature ambient sounds, to great success. Likewise, the director makes use of some very good filming and editing techniques in the trance sections, which become genuinely frightening.

BE OR NOT TO BE ? SANDY BEE !

Her biggest sources of inspiration are Keith Haring, Jean Dubuffet and David Hockney. Sandy´s style is childish, banal, remarquable and easily recognisable. Sandy likes to call her style sandyism: her colours are surrounded by outlines which are in their turn overrun by other lines in different thicknesses. Her paintings consist of many colours and different shapes creating a playground where to explore symbols and codes already used. She paints what she lives, what she sees, her life and surroundings.

Originally from Finland, born in 1994, Sandra Wallin known as Sandy Bee, grows up in the heart of the Finnish archipelago in an environment where the culture and art are strongly highlighted. After graduating in 2014, she decides to move to Paris to study Textile Design at Olivier de Serres ENSAAMA. It´s here that her interest for painting will spring to life under the supervision and advices of her teachers. After her BA in Textiles, she decides to devote all her time to painting. Self-taught, she starts to experiment and create artworks in her studio in the outskirts of Paris.

I am a songwriter, lyricist, composer, singer and producer

I process both good and bad things through my melodies, and I’m not afraid to go deep into my dark subconscious or to touch subjects that are “politically delicate”. My music is my emotional diary and I’m totally ok with you reading it.

I get inspiration from solo-travelling. Because when you are on your own you can stop listening to all the noise around you and you can hear yourself. I also get inspiration from sadness and pain. Because to feel sad requires you get hurt. And that means you have been vulnerable and brave enough to be that. This is empowering. Most of all, however, I get inspired by people. Because everyone is just so beautifully fucked up even without realizing it.

Tell us about your way of working.
My projects always seem have too little time, too little light or too little crew members. That's why there are two things I never compromise about – camera and lenses. They need to be top notch and work well together. So, in addition to my high end camera I need lenses that are fast, sharp, and reliable. They also need to be future proof with whatever possible camera setups I might use in the future.

How do you choose lenses?
For me the importance of owning high-end cinema lenses comes forth especially when working on my digital series END UNSUNG. Days of shooting are spread out and changes and surprises are very common - so renting is not a practical solution for me. So the Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon Full Frame Prime Lenses price range and quality was just what I needed.

And of course the lenses perform perfectly with any high-end commercial or corporate projects I have to work on – which always seem to come in on short notice.

Tell us about your project.
The END UNSUNG world is very dark and realistic and most of the scenes are shot in natural light, practicals or very low light conditions - and that‘s where these lenses‘ low light capability (T-stop) comes in very handy.

Why Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon Full Frame Prime Lenses?
There is something very cinematic and special - almost magical – in the footage you get when you combine RED cameras and Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon Full Frame Prime Lenses. For me, this setup is very hard to beat by anything else. Love my lenses – they make me look good.

Through physical mediums, like wood, steel, copper, and concrete, Rolf is now bringing his dreams and indignation into real, tangible life, creating one-of-a-kind sculptures and other artistic projects uniquely positioned to rival the status of his filmmaking. Influenced by his Finnish roots and the environment around him, Rolf’s style can be characterized as new age experimental with Scandinavian overtones that give it a completely unique positioning for today’s day and age.

According to Rolf, ART by Rolf Lindblom is whatever the beholder sees personally in their eyes and brain. He’s just merely here to create the experimental pieces that provoke thought, emotion, and perhaps passion in those around us. Where does this kind of inspiration come from in the first place for Rolf? Let him tell you below.

Like most artists, my pieces and finished works are influenced by what I see around me; especially my passions for the films I have conceptualized, produced, and founded. I am just a regular impressionable human being with a love affair for filmmaking and production. To me, nothing sets my soul on fire like creating a visual piece of art that will remain infinitely. To be able to capture that kind of filmmaking passion within artistic endeavors now through this platform has always been a dream of mine.

I see this ART project and my films now existing collaboratively in the same universe, complementing one another by providing new angles, perspectives, and suggestions.
